Class of 2004 Matt
Cameron ÒScarecrowÓ Years Played: 2002-2004 (played in
non-collegiate matches 2004-2006) Positions Played: Fullback, Wing Matt began his Bard rugby
career at the Jones Beach MotherÕs Day Tournament in 2002, his sophomore
year, and continued with the club until his graduation in 2004, primarily
with a number 15 on the back of his jersey. The nickname ÒScarecrowÓ refers
to his tall, lanky appearance. Contrary to his counterpartÕs nature, however,
Matt was known to attract many fine-looking birds into his company, and often
his bedroom. After graduation, Matt played for Bard in select non-collegiate
games and acted as a coach for the newly-formed Bard womenÕs rugby team while
working as a sound technician in the collegeÕs audio-visual department. Matt writes: I am currently employed as
Bard CollegeÕs audio-visual technician, building on my major in theater sound
design. I am also still associated with the club, to my great satisfaction.
However, in September I will be departing from the area for greener pastures
in Chicago, to make a living as a theatrical sound designer, sound technician,
and live/recording audio engineer.
